For December 6th:

“…But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4

In each edition of this “Living a Life of Gratitude” Daily Devotional, we have been encouraged to show our gratitude to others (and ultimately to God) in a selfless way through anonymous acts of kindness. Anonymous acts are not always easy to pull off, but with some effort and a little creativity, it can happen. And the joy the giver receives is as abundant as the joy the recipient of the kindness experiences. When you have opportunities, try the ideas and experience the bountiful joy of blessing another in this most selfless way.

#26- Take a shopping cart back to the store that seems lost in the parking lot.

#27- Use your talents or gifts to make a special Christmas wish come true. (I once sewed a Daphne costume from the cartoon Scooby Doo for a friend’s daughter because it was the only thing the young girl asked for, and the friend had lost hope finding it ready made. It “amazingly just showed up” just in time for Christmas wrapping!)

#28- Go to the post office and choose a letter sent to Santa that has a return address. Purchase a request from the letter and send it to the child labeled from “The North Pole”!

#29-Send a gift card to a person you know is struggling to make ends meet.

#30-Pay it forward. When you see or hear of someone doing something selfless, thoughtful or kind, make it a priority to find a way to do something selfless, thoughtful or kind that same day.

Have fun!
