For December 24th:

CHRIST Candle:
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1 :4-5

On Christmas Eve, we relight all the candles in our Advent Wreathes from the four Sundays in Advent, HOPE, PEACE, JOY & LOVE and then we also light the white candle in the middle, The Christ Candle. The light from this candle represents Jesus, The Light of the World.

Silent Night, Holy Night(Audio available on the blog)
Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from thy Holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

Silent night, holy night,
Wondrous star, lend thy light;
With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!
United Methodist Hymnal, 1989
Lyrics, Joseph Mohr, 1818; Music Franz Gruber, 1818
