“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, the will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” I Corinthians 13:8
KEEP ON LOVING
Correna Andrews works with Hospice. In our Sunday School Class she shared with us about a precious little lady that she had been assigned to care for. This little lady is 102 and Correna said that the little lady only says two things: “I Love You and Keep on Loving.” When she has finished eating she will turn her head and say “Done”.
One Hundred and two and the message that has stayed with her is one of Love.
Can I say I love you when I have been hurt so badly and can I keep on loving when I see so little hope and have prayed and prayed for such a long time?
Devastating illnesses, death; some so very young, others very violent, suicide, then divorce, drug abuse, family abuse, no job. The list of hurts go on and on. Our cries, my cry “God where are You? Why oh why O Lord??? Can You not protect us Lord??? Do you not care Lord???”
In our Sunday School Class we are studying Matthew and that Sunday we were studying when Herod had John the Baptist killed. A senseless and violent death. Then Michael Brown, our teacher compared John's death to Jesus' death. Two innocent men. Did God not love them? Did He not care? Were they not doing the work of the Lord?
My Mandy is a child that gives unconditional love. She cannot walk by people without speaking and most of the time, even people she does not know, she tells them she loves them. She cannot walk by a baby, an animal, an older person, or a sick person without stopping and giving love.
It makes no difference to Mandy what a person has done or said to her, her words are going to be “I love you “ Mandy keeps on loving no matter what. One of the things Mandy says is “Remember, no matter what you have done, I love you.”
Prayer: Father, I pray that I can love like Mandy. That I can love like You. That at the end of my life when it is “done”, I have to keep on loving for I have lived with Your love and Your promises, “Never will I leave you and never will I forsake you. (Joshua 1:5) Truly Your Love Never Fails.
