For October 2nd:

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
Our family has gone through some difficult financial times this past year. We owned a business and often struggled to make ends meet. We finally had to close our business last week, so I’ve spent some time recalling how God has brought us through the last few years.
In looking over the past, I see how amazingly God prepared us for that difficult time and blessed us in the process. Just little things like finding a beautiful house with oddly low rent, or finding someone who taught me how to cut our grocery bill in half shows how God knew all along we were going to have tough times ahead. While in the storm, it seemed like the worse thing possible, but looking back, He really protected us and kept us from total financial disaster.
Now as my husband starts over with a new career, I know God is already a mile ahead, preparing the way for us. Whether it is going to be down in the valley or up in the mountains, I know we will be okay, because He is with us. I am so grateful for His promise that He will never leave us, no matter where we are.
