"The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." John 3:8
This is a story from a dear friend of mine who is currently serving in the Middle East. She teaches first grade at an Arabic speaking school.
"Today, I just want to pick up the phone and call the people I love. I had a long hard day at work. My assistant was sick and the kids were mostly good... but at the end of the day, not so much. And I have to remind myself that it was just yesterday that I loved my job and it was just last week the Father was showing me how to pray for this place. I quickly call to mind that it is all worth it, so others may know the dear Friend I love and cherish. But that is when the questions creep in. Questions of what am I really doing that makes even an ounce of difference here. I am just a regular grade one teacher. I live a seemingly ordinary day to day life... that I could live in so many places. This is when I must remind myself of what the Father told me about glitter. He compared it to His Spirit. That just as when you have glitter and it gets on everything and everyone and is impossible to contain, His Spirit is the same. Everyone I touch, every place I go, I leave little bits of glitter, His Spirit. And so no matter how often the enemy comes at me, telling me I don't account for much, I can hold onto that truth. Where I go His Spirit goes."
Spreading glitter, Addie McCallie
