For July 3rd

“Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.” Revelation 10:1

“It was a beautiful sunny afternoon on July 5, 2012.  Some of our family from Minnesota were visiting for the Fourth of July holiday. We decided to take one last trip on our double-decker pontoon boat before everyone returned home to Minnesota the next day. Twelve of us were on the boat, including 6 children. We were all relaxing in the sun,
enjoying the last precious hours of family time together. From out of nowhere appeared a dark, roaring cloud coming upon us very suddenly. We were only able to board the boat, pull up anchor, and drive a few yards before the windstorm was upon us. Before we knew it, the boat had flipped and we were all desperately fighting for our lives.
Amidst the roaring wind and 4-foot waves, we searched for our loved one’s. Our daughter, Zoe, and Grandma Sue were trapped underneath the boat. As a fisherman pulled each of the other women and children onto his boat one by one, the three men stayed behind to rescue Zoe and Sue. They were successful in getting them out from under the boat, but it was too late. They had both been under the water for too long.
With CPR and medical treatment, they both regained a heart rate but never consciousness.  We felt that was God's way of giving us a few more hours to say our goodbyes before they both died the next morning... two beautiful angels together forever with their Lord Jesus Christ.
Our family would like to continue the legacy of these two amazing souls with this memorial run benefiting local children's charities.  With the implementation of rainbows,
unicorns, and throwing color, we can rest assured that both Sue and Zoe will be among us! We have learned through our loss that life is sweet, and we hope you will pass it on.”
