For July 2nd:
“Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.” Ezekiel 1:28

Gratitude Project #11- Zoe’s Rainbow Dash
A year ago this Friday, July 5th, 2012, the McDonough family and our church family experienced the tragedy of losing two of God’s saints. Ten year old Zoe McDonough and her Grandmother, Sue McDonough lost their lives during a boating accident on Chickamauga Lake. Their family, surrounded by friends in Christ, have strived throughout this difficult year to make the ugliness of that tragedy into something beautiful by finding ways to celebrate the spirit of their lost loved ones.
This Thursday, July 4th, 2013, the McDonough Family is sponsoring “Life is Sweet-Zoe’s Rainbow Dash” A Rainbow Color Race Benefiting Children’s Charities in memory and honor of Zoe and Sue. Their mission is to memorialize the lives of Zoe and Sue through gatherings and events that create a positive experience in the Chattanooga community while raising funds and creating awareness for children’s charities.
Our next project in this Living a Life of Gratitude Women’s Daily Devotional is to encourage you to either participate in this event by donating to and participating in Zoe’s Rainbow Dash Foundation, and/or by being a part of this celebration by showing up to cheer on those who are running/walking/rolling.
