For April 5th:
“I tell you, do not be anxious about your life.
. . Look at the birds, . . . your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? .
. . do not be anxious about
tomorrow…” Matthew 6:25-3
Terminal. Betrayed. Terminated.
Despair. Confusion. Frustration. Grief.
Anxiety. Fear. This is what life can look and feel
like when life lays shattered at your feet. Scenarios are different but the feelings are the same and
the question – why, where is God?!
Something
I’ve learned through my own “life-shattering” experiences is to focus on the
promises of God – not the explanation.
During one particular dark, life-shattering time the passage above
became my lifeline. Each morning
was a struggle to get up and make it through the day. But every morning, for 4 months, a little bird was perched
on top of a pole singing it’s heart out as I walked into the building for
work. Every morning, regardless of
my arrival time, that little bird’s song echoed in my heart words of love and
encouragement from my Heavenly Father.
God is faithful! I will
always believe that God appointed that little bird to sing for me.
And
now each bird’s song I hear brings a smile and an opportunity to say
“thank-you” to such a gracious and loving FATHER! Hear His song of love and encouragement today!
