For April 13th:
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Colossians 3:2

More words of wisdom from Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, 1600s…
(See the March 9th entry for background information about this obscure French monk).

“…This walk he said, is all about leaving behind forever everything that doesn’t lead to God. Doing this helps us get used to a never-ending conversation with Him. It’s simple and free.
(He) believed all we need is to recognize how God is present in our lives here and now, to focus on Him at all times, to ask for His help when we need it, to search out His will when we’re not sure what to do, and to do those things well that He’s clearly given to us…
Conversation with God also leads us to praise, adore, and love Him nonstop for being so good and perfect…
…It’s all about Him, not us…”
