For November 2nd:

“A true friend is always loyal.” Proverbs 17:17

Mary Lynn, my friend since grammar school, passed away in her sleep the end of July. We had grown up together in Eastdale Methodist Church and were very active in the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship). She played the organ and piano and I sang in the choir and the trio. We attended many revivals at different churches and she was always ready to play the piano.
We were in each other’s weddings; hers being the week before my son was born. Although she joined the Baptist Church with her husband, she occasionally played at different churches. Her volunteer “job” just prior to her death was playing the keyboard at a Hixson nursing home for the residents to sing along with.
She was my concert “buddy”, attending the Tivoli and Memorial Auditorium programs whenever possible. She worked with her husband at his dental office until they retired several years ago.
They raised a grandson who is now in college. Also she enjoyed spending time with her daughter’s two little boys, one still a baby.
She had been an inspiration and a dear friend for 65 years, which I’m very thankful for.
