For October 22nd:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14

Carving faces on pumpkins is popular at this time of year. In the children’s book The Pumpkin Gospel, by Mary Manz Simon,( 2005) readers are told the Gospel of Jesus using the visuals of cleaning out the insides of a pumpkin and carving a face. What a great way to share the story of Christ’s redeeming love with children, while using the pumpkin carving as an illustration and activity.

“God’s love is like a candle that shines from inside out. It’s beaming deep within me, and so I now can shout.”
The Pumpkin Gospel, by Mary Manz Simon, 2005

We are all God’s light in the darkness that can be this world. Are you letting your light shine by using your spiritual gifts to further His kingdom? Shout to God your gratitude for His many blessings by sharing your God given gifts with someone today. Let your little light shine for all to see.
