“Train a child in the
way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NIV
For
any of you who have girl children, especially teenage girls, this is for
you. I am so very thankful I lived
through my daughter’s teen years. Here is a text message I received from my 26 year old
graduate student daughter.
“I’ve
gotten 2 big compliments today.
One about how I’m doing as an instructor for the faculty fitness swim
class I teach and one for being a good mentor to the undergrads working on my
project. ( her research for her
thesis) You all have taught me
many valuable lessons and helped shaped me to be the person who received such
feedback, so I just wanted to say thanks.”
My
daughter has had two frustrating years working on her Master’s degree and she
is nearing the end. I can tell by
this email that she is going to make it through this trial and come out a
stronger and more appreciative person.
I hope you can have a day like this when your girl says thank you.
