For July 14th:

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24

More words of wisdom from Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, 1600s…
(See the March 9th entry for background information about this obscure French monk).

“Everything is possible for those who believe, more for those who hope, still more for those who love, and most of all for those who faithfully combine all three: faith, hope, and love. Being baptized and believing in Christ are the first steps to spiritual maturity. But to reach the goal, follow these principles:

1. Look for God’s hand in everything and give Him the credit in all that you say and do. Our goal should be to serve as His number one cheerleaders in this life because that’s what we hope to be in heaven. In the process, look to Him for help in getting past the rough spots in the Christian walk…”
