For June 14th:
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple
(chapel) and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
More words of wisdom
from Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection,
1600s…
(See the March 9th
entry for background information about this obscure French monk).
“…We don’t always have
to be in church to be with God, either. We can remodel our hearts into
chapels—the perfect place for a prayer retreat, where we can humbly and
peacefully come to the Lord in love without a lot of show. Everyone can do
it—some more, some less, of course. God knows.
So
let’s not waste time. Maybe He’s expecting only a single step from you. What
ever the case, don’t back down because life is short…Let’s live—and die—with
our Lord. Look at it this way: With Him, even the worst day can taste sweet.
Without Him, even something like winning the lottery would feel like the worst
prison sentence. That’s why every mouth needs to praise Him!
…Make
it a habit to give Him you’re whole heart and life, not just once but daily.
Even if you’re on a busy schedule. Every minute of every day, if you can…
Worship God in faith by believing that He honestly wants to know you better…”
