For May 28th:
“I thank my God every time I remember
you.” Philippians 1:3 (NIV)
Last
year was one of transition, one to which I am still in the process of
adjusting. I moved to a new city,
several hours away from most of my family. I left a job where I had been surrounded by wonderful
co-workers for twenty years. I
ventured back into the challenging world of academia. However, the hardest thing about the transition was leaving
my church family. I became a
Christian six years ago and Christ United Methodist was the only church I had
ever known. The love, support, and
acceptance I found there was like nothing I had ever experienced. I am grateful every morning when I
check my email and see a posting from “Living a Life of Gratitude.” I may not recognize the name of the
woman who wrote the story but I know she is part of the family I still have at
Christ Church, the family I dearly love.
I do thank my God every time I remember them.
