“I was glad when they said unto me, ‘Let us go into the House of the
Lord.’" Psalm 122:1
I memorized this scripture as a child, but it was
years later that I truly understood and experienced the joy of worshiping
God. I am now grateful for the freedom to worship God as I choose.
It is so easy to take for granted this freedom that I have always experienced,
but now understand how precious that freedom is.
I am grateful for my church, Christ Church,
where I have experienced spiritual growth through the truths preached in our
worship services and the study of the Bible. I am grateful for the
opportunities to serve God through our church whether it is working
with children or in any of the multitudes of opportunities for service that
Christ Church offers.
I am grateful that Christ Church practices missions
and that I have the opportunity to work in partnership with St. Marks and see
God working in that congregation.
I am grateful that Christ Church is not a building,
but a group of followers of Jesus Christ who strive to be the hands and feet of
God in our community. I thank God daily for my church and as we are asked
to do when we join, I pray for my church.
I am truly grateful to be able to go into the House
of the Lord.
