For March 23rd:
“…But
when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand
is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in
secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4
Back in the
January edition (January 29th) of this “Living a Life of Gratitude” Daily
Devotional, we were encouraged to show our gratitude to others (and ultimately
to God) in a selfless way through anonymous acts of kindness. Anonymous acts
are not always easy to pull off, but with some effort and a little creativity,
it can happen. And the joy the giver receives is as abundant as the joy the
recipient of the kindness experiences. Occasionally, entries in this devotional
will share ideas for showing gratitude anonymously. When you have
opportunities, try the ideas and experience the bountiful joy of blessing
another in this most selfless way. Have fun!
#4-
In addition to paying the amount of your order, pay for the person’s
order in the car behind you in the drive thru at the fast food restaurant and
drive away. When they move up to pay for their meal imagine how shocked they’ll
be that it has been taken care of.
#5- Return the shopping cart that seems to be lost
or roaming around the parking lot at the grocery or department store.
#6- Write out a few Scripture verses or
inspirational quotes on a pad of “Post-it” notes, keep them handy in your purse
and then “post” them on the stall wall or mirror in the bathroom at a
restaurant, store or gas station.
Have fun!
