“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son. And whoever believes in Him  shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Today is Good Friday. Today we remember just how deep, how far and how wide God’s love is for us.

For March 29th:
“Were You There”
(You can listen to a piano accompaniment of this hymn so you can sing along if you go to our blog, Gratitudedevotional.blogspot.com, and select the arrow in the photo below these lyrics.)

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

Were you there when they pierced him in the side?
Were you there when they pierced him in the side?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they pierced him in the side?

Were you there when the sun refused to shine?

Were you there when they laid him in the tomb?

Lyrics, Afro-American spiritual
The United Methodist Hymnal, 1989
