For February 5th
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ “ Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)Cross references:
Recently I had the wonderfully fun and inspirational opportunity to attend the Women of Joy Conference in Pigeon Forge, TN with the WOW group from CUMC.  We had two vans full of amazing women that I count it a blessing to be among.  The first conference night had left all of us feeling like we had been in the presence of the Holy Spirit with uplifting music and worship and a speaker who motivated us to leave that conference center and be all that God created us as women to be.

AND THEN THE PARKING LOT HAPPENED!

A parking lot built for about half the number of cars that were parked in it – all being driven by women trying to leave at the same time out one entrance with no direction and absolutely NO give and take! My first thought was “What happened to our just renewed spirits?” My second thought was “How is my melancholy self going to keep my choleric sister from getting in this mess and directing traffic?” Answer: if you can’t beat em, join em! As the two of us commenced to directing and re-directing traffic and putting a method to the madness, I had a revelation!  This is how God works! Don’t we make a mess of things sometimes? Don’t we just buckle up, look straight ahead, and put the pedal to the medal without a single thought to those around us?  With a little direction from the Bible, we can get a clearer idea on the route we need to take. With God driving, we can be assured that the entrance and exit signs will be marked and best of all, we will be equipped to set an example for our passengers to let God lead and the blessings will follow.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to remember that in order for you to lead my life, I have to turn the wheel over to you – DAILY.
