For February 18th

”Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

The past few years I have had the privilege and joy of facilitating Bible study for a special group of women. At the end of our year together, we gather in a retreat type setting to wrap up our studies and reflect on what we’ve learned over the past months together. This gracious group always presents me with a gift of gratitude for being their group leader, and although it is unnecessary, I am always overwhelmed with their thoughtfulness and generosity.
Last year they presented me with the book “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voscamp. I looked forward to enjoying it as my summer “read” not knowing how life changing its message would be for me. This book is all about a woman’s quest for finding true peace, joy, and an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through the art of gratitude. I had been learning how to be more grateful over the past decade, but this wonderful book shined a new light on why I need gratitude in my heart. Its all about God. A thankful heart is what Jesus showed us while he was here on earth and a thankful heart is what God rejoices over.
Thank you again, “Bible Buddies”. You cannot imagine how special your gift of gratitude has affected its recipient.
