“…My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” II Corinthians 12:9

As I began to write my devotion, I received a text telling me that a good friend’s mother had passed away.  Along with many others, I had been praying for my friend and her mother for some time and knew that her mother was a believer.  While we prayed for earthly healing for her mother, God chose another kind of healing for my friend’s mother.
We don’t always understand why God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want Him to, but this verse again reminds me that God is with us, and His grace will see us through anything.  He will be with my friend as she grieves the loss of her mother in the days ahead.  In the same way, He walks with each of us through all the events of our lives.  When I don’t understand why some things happen, I am reminded that I don’t have to know all of the answers.  God is my strength-helping me to move forward. In the November 1, 2012 Upper Room entry, I found the following statement to be of great encouragement: “Faith makes things possible-not easy.”
Isn’t it wonderful to know that God loves us and cares for us as no one else does?
