For January 29th
“…But
when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand
is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in
secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4
A selfless way to show gratitude to others (and
ultimately to God) is by
anonymous acts of kindness. Anonymous acts are
not always easy to pull off, but with
some effort and a little creativity, it can
happen. And the joy the giver receives is as
abundant as the joy the recipient of the
kindness experiences. Occasionally, entries in
this devotional will share ideas for showing
gratitude anonymously. When you have
opportunities, try the ideas and experience the
bountiful joy of blessing another in this
most selfless way. Have fun!
#1- Send a "thinking of you" greeting
card, but do not sign the card and do not
include your return address.
#2- Put change in a parking meter for a spot
you are not parked in.
#3- If you notice a member of the armed forces
having lunch or dinner in the
restaurant where you are eating, ask your
waiter to let you pay for their meal
anonymously.
If you have an anonymous act of kindness idea
you'd like to share, add it to the
comment attachment on this blog, send an email
to cre8dzins@comcast.net or send your idea to CUMC, East Brainerd Road,
