For January 15th
“Meanwhile,
the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping
us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our
praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching
groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant
condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that
every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Romans 8:26-28, The
Message (MSG)
The whole idea of prayer is a
phenomenon that I never get over being amazed and grateful for. We are amazed that we can get on the
internet and hook up with millions of people or converse with someone around the
world, and yet we still don’t get the wonder of prayer. Prayer is a powerful connection between
you and God, and it is always there, you are never out of range. Prayer plugs you into the greatest
Source of power and energy possible, the Creator of all.
Saying we are grateful for prayer is
nice, but getting the opportunity to speak directly to the King of the
Universe, the Lord of All, is way beyond anything that we can comprehend. Prayers go up every second of the day
and all of them are heard and valued.
I am so thankful that each time I bow my head or have a prayerful
thought, God hears me! I can’t
think of a better way to be “connected”.
